A resurgent the Russian player claimed his first title for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.

Medvedev, a former world number one, has had a torrid period, achieving just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in especial - caused him exiting of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.

Presently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

It is his first title since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court since spring of that year.

The win also signifies the Russian has secured 21 victories at 21 various events.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," said tennis professional the champion.

"This title is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, including in that event earlier this year.

The player's defensive approach and regular outbursts on the playing surface had caused observers to wonder if his skill to compete at the elite level was concluded.

But the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform aggressively, supported by an better service.

He fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five games to go ahead.

The pair traded break points in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to create a third set.

Moutet rescued 4 initial opportunities in a tight third set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, Medvedev clinched victory with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
