I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the pair came face-to-face to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

However, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the customary confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
